MCAT 2021 or Medical College Admission Test is used by Medical schools in the USA, Australia, Canada and the Caribbean Islands for admission. Candidates interested in pursuing an MD degree in the US or Canada are required to take the standardized MCAT 2020. The test evaluates the candidate’s knowledge, understanding of scientific concepts and principles for those pursuing an education in medicine. MCAT is conducted by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) and is accepted by health professionals and graduate schools as an important aspect of the selection process.

The computer-based test, MCAT 2021 evaluates aspirants on four criteria; Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems; Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems; Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior; and Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills. MCAT is being conducted 23 times throughout 2021, with no test dates scheduled in February.

MCAT Registration 2021

The details regarding the MCAT 2021 Application form are given below:

  • The registration for MCAT 2021 is ongoing.
  • The process begins when the candidate creates an AAMC account.
  • An AAMC account can be created by filling the candidate’s personal details like email, full name, and gender.
  • After that, the aspirant may next sign in to their accounts using the User ID and password.
  • The same login credentials can also be used to maintain the MCAT account for any other important correspondence or getting MCAT related information from AAMC.
  • After submitting the online registration form, the candidate will receive an email confirmation which will give the complete details of the exam.
  • Aspirants are advised to register for MCAT 2020 at least 60 days before to the chosen exam date.

MCAT 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates aspiring to pursue a career in medicine or related field (health professional) can take the MCAT 2020. The courses offered by different health institutions which need MCAT SCORE 2020 for Admission are as follows:

  • Allopathic
  • Osteopathic
  • Podiatric and
  • Veterinary medicine

Aspirants from countries other than USA and Canada, who have completed or are pursuing their MBBS degrees, are not required to obtain any special permission to register and appear for MCAT 2020.

The degrees offered by the US medical schools are MD degrees., Therefore candidates are required to possess an undergraduate degree before they apply for the course. Aspirants are normally required to have completed the following courses before they apply to any US Medical School

  • Biology – One year
  • Physics – One year
  • English – One year
  • Chemistry (through organic chemistry) – Two years

MCAT  2021 Question Paper Format

The duration of MCAT 2020: 7 hours and 27 minutes.

The total actual exam time will be of 6 hours 15 minutes (approx) duration.

The computer-based test consists of the following four main sections:

  • Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems
  • Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behaviour
  • Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills

MCAT 2021 Syllabus – Section wise

There are four main test sections of MCAT syllabus 2021. The four sections are listed below:

  • Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems
  • Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems
  • Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behaviour
  • Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills

It is expected that the candidates are proficient in biological concepts, organic and inorganic chemistry, Physics. Aspirants are also required to showcase their critical reasoning ability.

Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behaviour ·         Concepts of psychology, sociology, and biology about the behavioural and socio-cultural health determinants;

·         Concepts of psychology and sociology;

·         Biology concepts of mental processes and behaviour;

·         Introductory statistics concepts and research methods of introductory science; and

·         Social and behavioral sciences: scientific inquiry and reasoning, research methods, and statistics skills.

Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills ·         Test comprehension, analysis, and reasoning skills;

·         Include content from ethics, philosophy, studies of diverse cultures, population health, and a wide range of social sciences and humanities disciplines

MCAT 2021 Exam Centres

  • MCAT 2021 is scheduled to be conducted at 18 countries which includes the USA and its territories. The exam is to be conducted in 23 days in 2020 and it has a number of exam centres from which the aspirants can choose the closest or the most convenient one.
  • Almost every country where MCAT is scheduled has approximately 1–5 MCAT test centres. The USA and Canada have more than 30 MCAT test centres in 2020. Aspirants can check the most convenient MCAT 2021 test centre before they register for MCAT. The test centres can be searched state wise (US only) or according to the country from a drop-down list.
  • Candidates should check the closest MCAT exam centre 2021 after completing the registration procedure on the official website. There are three scheduling zones for each exam date: Gold, Silver, and Bronze. For each exam date, Gold Zone scheduling fees are lower but flexibility is on the higher side. Conversely, fees are higher and flexibility is limited in the Bronze Zone.
  • Candidates can only select the exam centre if only it is available on the preferred test date. Candidates can either choose their MCAT exam centres 2020 through a State/Province filter or Country filter. Prospective test-takers from international countries other than USA/Canada can use the country filter to view the list of MCAT 2021 exam centres. Selecting a specific country or state/province will show the list of all the MCAT 2021 exam centres available in the selected country or state.

MCAT 2021 Scores

MCAT 2021 scores will be marked for the four sections separately. AAMC will also declare the aggregate of all the four sections. The MCAT 2021 scores will be declared after 30-35 days of the exam date. Aspirants will get a total of 5 MCAT 2021 scores. The five scores are; one score for each section and a total score. MCAT 2020 scores will range between 472 and 528. The midpoint of the scores is 500.
