• Letter writing- (One out of Two)
  • Informal – personal letters to family and friends.
  • Formal – letters to the editor/letter of complaints, inquiries, requests, applications.
• Email – formal letters to the Principal of the school or to the Editor of a Newspaper or Magazine.
• Writing a short paragraph
• Composition: A short writing task based on verbal and/or visual stimulus. (diagram, picture, graph, map, chart, table, flow chart, etc).

Grammar

Grammar will comprise the following topics-

1. Tense

2. Clauses (Noun Clauses, Adverb Clauses, Relative Clauses )

3. Active & Passive Voice

4. Direct and Indirect Speech

5. Modals (Command, Request, Permission, Probability, Obligation)

15 Marks

Prose- Golden Rays

(i) Two extracts from different prose lessons included in Textbook

(ii) One out of two questions to be answered in about 60 words.

(iii) One out of two questions on Drama Text (local and global comprehension questions, 30-40 words)

14 Marks

Poetry- Golden Rays

(i) One out of two RTC from the prescribed poems.

(ii) Two out of three short answer type questions, to be answered in 30-40 words each.

9 Marks

Supplementary Reader- Resolution

(i) One out of two questions to be answered in about 80 words.

(ii) One out of two short answer type questions to be answered in 30-40 words.

(iii) One out of two short answer type questions to be answered in 20-25 words.
