KCET 2023 eligibility criteria is released by the Karnataka Examination Authority(KAE) and  available on the official website of KCET 2023. The eligiblity criteria is the most important thing which all the aspirants of KCET 2023 have to check before applying for this exam. It is important because the application of the candidate is liable to be rejected if it is found that the student is not eligible to sit for the examination. All the andidates can read this complete article to get a detailed idea about the eligibility criteria of the KCET 2023.
The KCET 2023 will be conducted on May 20 and 21, 2023, and the Kannada language test will be held on May 22, 2023.

KCET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates can check the eligibility criteria of KCET 2023 given below.

  • Age Limit: The applying candidate shall be a citizen of India.
  • Domicile: Requirement of having studied within Karnataka state or being a student/resident of the state is clarified under separate clauses. Understand each point to know which category best fits you.
  • General Qualification criteria: Candidate must have passed from the college given on the official website of VTU. Students other than the mentioned colleges shall not be allowed to appear for the examination. Also students who have passed from Karnataka State Open University also shall not be allowed to appear for the exam.
  • Eligibility / admissions / allotments made to and by the colleges shall be subject to approval by MCI / DCI / AICTE / COA / CCIM / Government / concerned University / Apex Bodies / etc.

Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the Languages and obtained a Minimum of 50% of Marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology subjects. (40% for SC, ST, Cat‐1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)

AYUSH ‐ courses Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Homoeopathy

Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with Englishh as one   Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the Languages and obtained a Minimum of 50% of Marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology subjects. (40% for SC, ST, Cat‐1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)

Architecture course (B.Arch)

Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with Mathematics as Compulsory optional subject and obtained a Minimum of 50% of Marks in aggregate in all the subjects. (45% for SC, ST, Cat‐1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)

Engineering / Technology courses (B.E. / B.Tech)

Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the Languages and obtained a Minimum of 45% of Marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio‐ Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer. (40% for SC, ST, Cat‐1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidate

Farm Science courses means, B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture,   B.Sc. (Hons) Sericulture, B.Sc (Hons) Horticulture, B.Sc (Hons) Forestry, B.Sc. Agri Bio Tech, B.HSc.(Home Science), B.Tech (Agri.Engg), B.Tech (Food Techno), B.Tech (Dairy Tech), B.F.Sc (Fisheries), B.Tech (Food Science &Tech)., B.Sc. (Hons) Agri. Marketing &   Co‐Op.

Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology as optional subjects.

Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.)

Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std. and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects. (40% for SC, ST, Cat‐1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)

B‐Pharma

Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and obtained a Minimum of 45% of Marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology subjects. (40% for SC, ST, Cat‐1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates) OR Passed in Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India Under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act and has secured minimum of 45% marks.  (40% for SC, ST, Cat‐1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)

2nd Year B. Pharma

Passed in Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India Under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act and has secured minimum of 45% marks.  (40% for SC, ST, Cat‐1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)

Pharma‐D

Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. OR Passed in Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India Under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act
