CBSE Syllabus for Class 11 English
The syllabus of class 11 English is divided into three parts:
- Section A: Reading (20 Marks)– It consists of two unseen passages, one prose and the other one poem, and questions that follow. It contains objective-type questions and very short answer-type questions.
- Section B: Writing (20 Marks)– It comprises two questions of 10 marks each. Types of questions include essay writing, speech writing, articles, letters, etc. It tests skills in writing clear and logical statements that are argumentative and creative.
- Section C: Literature (40 Marks)– For this section students will be asked questions from their literature textbooks. The first question will be a short excerpt of a poem.
