GNDU Amritsar MCA Entrance Exam Syllabus is relased by Guru Nanak University, Amritsar. Guru Nanak University was established in 1969. GNDU University is the only university in Punjab to get the elite of “Category”-1 status by University Grants Commission(UGC). GNDU is situated at Amritsar, Punjab. The university is accredited at the “A++” grade by NAAC which is the highest level as per modified criteria. GNDU campus is spread over the area of 500 acres that presents a picture of modern architecture. 

GNDU is offering various courses in the field of engineering and Commerce. The detailed syllabus pattern of the MCA entrance exam is mentioned in the article.

There are two papers of MCA. One paper will include questions of Objective type and in the  second paper, there will be short answer type questions. The detailed syllabus of the entrance exam conducted for admission in MCA is mentioned below.

Paper-1 Objective Type Questions

In paper-1, there will be 50 objective type questions carrying 1 mark each and the time allowed to solve the paper is 75 minutes. The syllabus is mentioned in the given below table.

Trigonometry Questions in this topic are Measures of angles, the trigonometric function of an acute angle, reduction formulae, addition & subtraction formulae, inverse trigonometric functions, trigonometric equations, and their solutions.
Statistics and Probability Permutations and Combinations, nature and purpose of statistics, tabular & graphical representation of samples, variance, correlation, mathematical expectation, curve fitting, random experiments, probability, random variables.
Vector Questions to be asked in Paper-1 under vector are Scalar and vector quantities, Cross product and scalar product, the triple product of a vector.
General Awareness Important topics of Current Affairs, Events in Indian History and Important Scientific discoveries
Mental Ability Analytical and Logical Ability
General English English comprehension and English Vocabulary
Computer Aptitude Questions related to the basics of computer science and applications.

Paper-2 Short Type Questions

In this paper, there will be 15 short type questions carrying 3 marks for each and one long question carrying 5 marks. Questions will come under Higher Mathematics and Computer subjects. The syllabus of higher mathematics is mentioned in the given below table.

Theory of Equations Polynomials and its characteristics, roots of the equation, the relation between roots and coefficients, Transformation of an equation, solution of a cubic and biquadratic equations.

Numericals Methods Finding the root of a non-linear equation by using the bisection method, Newton-Raphson method, solutions of simultaneous linear equations, Gauss elimination method, Gauss-Siedel method, interpolation using Lagrange’s method, integration using the trapezoidal rule, Simpson’s rule, (numerical and algorithm type questions will be asked).
Statistical Techniques The arithmetic mean, standard deviation, linear regression and rank correlation.
Programming Language It includes basic programming concepts of FORTRAN and C.
Data Structure It includes Sorting and searching, stacks, queues, linked list, graphs and trees.
