Chapter 2 – Nelson Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom: An excerpt from Nelson Mandela’s autobiography is included in this chapter (born July 18, 1918). Chapter 3 Two Stories about Flying: The narrative of a baby seagull that is hesitant to fly because he is afraid of his wings is told in ‘His First Flight.’ His younger siblings, despite their thinner wings, were fearless flyers. When the small bird’s hunger drives him off a cliff and he has no choice but to rely on his wings, he eventually learns to fly. ‘Black Aeroplane’ is the story of a selfish pilot who puts the lives of all the people on his jet at jeopardy in order to fulfill his desire to spend time with his family on vacation. However, he is guided out of the storm by a mystery plane, and he is able to transport his passengers to safety. After a closer look, he notices that there was no other plane in the sky but his own.
Chapter 4 From the Diary of Anne Frank: The Diary of Anne Frank is Anne Frank’s autobiography, in which she describes herself as a Jewish girl who keeps a diary. The excerpt discusses how young kids should be encouraged to participate in class so that they can feel pleased and have a good learning experience. Griffin, an odd scientist, develops a medication that renders him invisible. He abuses his power to steal and in the process hurts a lot of people. It describes human nature’s proclivity for misappropriating new discoveries meant for the common good, posing a threat to everyone.
Chapter 6- The Making of a Scientist
The Making of a Scientist is a fascinating story about a young student who excelled in the field of science. Richard Ebright had a strong urge to capture butterflies as a child. The driver drove him throughout the village in search of Lutkins, but he was unable to locate him. The hack driver turned out to be none other than Oliver Lutkins himself, as the prosecutor found afterwards. As a result, the young lawyer became a target of ridicule for everyone.
Chapter 9 Bholi
The storey centres around a young girl who is regarded as dull and ugly as a result of a childhood illness and an awful mishap. Because she isn’t pretty or intelligent, everyone makes fun of her. Her life, however, takes a turn when she enrols at a local school, where her teacher inspires her and helps her grow into a competent and confident person. Bholi is forced to accept an undesirable marriage later in the novel, which she rejects when she watches her father pleading with the bridegroom when he asks for dowry. Chapter 10- The Book that Saved the Earth
‘The Book That Saved the World’ is a storey about “The Mother Goose,” a nursery rhyme that has been recast as the book that saved the Earth from an alien invasion. The storey begins with a historian describing how Martians plan to conquer Earth sometime during the twentieth century. One of their crew members landed at an Earth library and tried to comprehend the contents of the books that they mistook for a sandwich. They come across the rhyme “Humpty Dumpty,” which reminds them of Think Tank, their master. They are terrified that their master will lose control of Mars as a result of humanity, forcing them to abandon their plan to attack Earth.
