Assam NEET 2021 Merit List: Counselling Process


Assam NEET 2021 Merit list will be displayed by Directorate of Medical Education, Assam tentatively in the first week of September 2021. The merit list will be based on the data which will be given by NTA to the admission conducting authority of Assam state. Candidates who have qualified NEET-UG 2021 with minimum required percentile and are the domicile of Assam state will be included in the merit list of Assam MBBS 2021. The candidates will be called for counselling based on a state merit rank given to them. The counselling will be conducted for admissions to the 726 medical and 40 dental seats across the colleges of India. The rank will be given based on NEET UG 2021 score which means that the candidate who has the highest score and is a domicile of Assam state will be given the first rank. Assam MBBS merit list 2021 will consist of the candidate’s name, application no. of NEET UG, NEET 2021 rank, roll no. of NEET-UG, category, Assam state rank, NEET 2021 score and score in each section. Assam NEET 2021 Inter-se-Merit List

The  Merit List is the list of candidates selected and ranked based on marks obtained in NEET 2021. Merit List will be followed by counselling procedure and seats will be allotted to the candidates. And the candidates who are eligible or satisfying the criteria only will be called for the counselling process.

In a situation where the marks obtained by two or more candidates in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test will be equal, the authorities will follow the inter-se merit mechanism mentioned below to resolve the ties:

  • Candidates with higher scores in Biology will be granted a better rank in the state merit list.

  • If a tie still exists, the candidate with better scores in Chemistry will be given a better Assam MBBS state merit rank.

  • Lastly if a tie still exists, then the age will be taken into account and candidates older in age will be given preference.

NEET 2021 Cut Off

After the counselling sessions, the Directorate of Medical Education, Assam will declare NEET Cutoff 2021 Assam. NEET 2021 Cutoff Assam will be released for the 15% All India and the 85% state quota as well. The ranks and marks scored by candidates will be included in the NEET Cutoff 2021 Assam, belonging to the various categories to secure seats in the All India and state quota. The counselling authority will start the process of Assam NEET MBBS 2021 admissions tentatively by the second week of October 2021. The NEET-UG qualified candidates who have been included in the Assam NEET MBBS merit list and have completed the application process will be eligible for the counselling sessions.
