Thapar University MCA Admission 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates can check eligibility criteria for MCA Programme in Thapar University.

• For MCA: Candidates must hold a Graduation Degree with minimum 60% average marks(55% for reserved categories) in any discipline + Mathematics in 10+2/Graduation Course.
• For MCA(Lateral Entry): Candidates must hold a Graduation degree in BCA or B.Sc in Information Technology/Computer Science with minimum 60% average marks(55% for reserved categories) + Mathematics in 10+2/Graduation Course.  

Thapar University MCA Admission 2023 Selection Criteria

Candidates are allotted seats for MCA degree based on their overall performances of previous academics.

For MCA/MCA(Lateral Entry) :

• Merit-List be prepared according to an aggregate of 10th Classmarks + 12th Classmarks + Graduation marks.
• Upto end of the 2nd year, a minimum of 65% marks are required.
• Overall minimum 60% for General categories (55% for SC/ST) in graduation shall be required to be eligible for admission.

Thapar University MCA Admission 2023  Inter-Se-Merit Rule

In case of a tie among candidates securing equal marks in the merit list, the same will be broken in accordance with the following criteria:

• Candidate senior in age shall rank higher in order of merit.
• If a tie still exists then, a candidate getting a higher percentage of marks in the qualifying examination shall be ranked higher in order of merit.
• In the case of a tie in the percentage of marks in the qualifying examination also, a candidate securing a higher percentage of marks in matriculation/secondary or equivalent examination shall rank higher in order of merit.
