The application form can be obtained from the  Head, Department of Extra-Mural Studies and Distance Education, International Institute for Population Sciences, Deonar, Mumbai-400 088 in person or by sending a self-addressed 50/- stamped envelope (25cm x 12cm) or can be downloaded from the official website of the institute. Candidates should make sure that application form must be completed and should be attached with the enclosures. The eligibility criteria for the MA in Population Studies through distance education are as follows:

• Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
• Applicants must have a minimum of two years of work experience.
• Applicants must have a good understanding of English.

IIPS Distance Education Admission 2023 Eligibility Criteria

M.A in Population Studies: Admission to this course is open to all those with a Bachelor’s degree in any social science subject/Health/Maths/ Stats or any similar degree recognized by Indian/Foreign universities with 50 percentage marks for general candidates and 45 per cent marks for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC and PWD category.

• Candidates having a master’s degree and also those who are having work experience will be given due weightage.
• The cutoff percentage can further be reduced by the admission committee for candidates with any additional qualifications.

• There are 100 seats available for admission to this course. However, the Institute reserves the right to decide a number of students to be enrolled in each academic session depending upon the number of applications received.
• Selection of candidates for the course will be done by a selection committee duly constituted by the Director of the Institute.
