IMU CET 2021 Eligibility Criteria

The details regarding the eligibility criteria are given below:

Age Criteria:

  • Age Limit: The minimum age should be 17 years and the maximum age should be 25 years on or before 01 August 2020.
  • Relaxation: 5 years for reserved category candidates.
  • Marital Status: Only unmarried candidates can apply for this exam.

Qualification Criteria

For DNS:

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidates have to pass 10+2/ equivalent examination or B.Sc or BE/B.Tech (from IIT or college recognised by AICTE)
  • Subjects: Candidates have to pass 10+2/ equivalent examination with PCM or B.Sc in PCM, Electronics with Physics as individual subject in one of the years.
  • Minimum Marks: Candidates have to secure minimum 60% marks (10+2/ equivalent examination) or not less than 50% marks (B.Sc & BE/B.Tech).

For B.Sc:

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidates have to pass 10+2/ equivalent examination.
  • Subjects: Candidates have to pass 10+2/ equivalent examination with PCM & English Subjects.
  • Minimum Marks: Candidates have to secure minimum 60% marks in PCM & 50% marks in English.

For B.Tech:

  • Qualifying Exam: Aspirants have to clear 10+2/ equivalent examination.
  • Subjects: Candidates have to qualify 10+2/ equivalent examination with PCM & English Subjects.
  • Minimum Marks: Aspirants have to score at least 60% marks in PCM & 50% marks in English.

For B.Tech (Lateral Entry):

  • Qualifying Exam: Aspirants have to pass Diploma in Engineering.

For MBA:

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidates have to pass their bachelor degree from a recognized university.
  • Minimum Marks: Aspirants have to obtain at least 50% marks. Score 50% marks in English Subjects in 10th/12th/ UG Degree.

For M.Tech:

  • Qualifying Exam: Aspirants have to clear their Graduation or equivalent degree from a recognized university.
  • Minimum Marks: Candidates have to secure a minimum 60% aggregated marks.

NOTE: There will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks for SC/ST category.

Other Criteria:

  • Firstly, having a passport is a must.
  • But, if candidates want to apply for the marine course, they have to show their medical fitness certificate by Doctors approved by Director General of Shipping.
  • Appearing candidates can also apply but they have to qualify their examination on or before 31st May 2020.

Physical Fitness

Candidates, who seek admission to the marine course (DG shipping approved courses) have to produce a medical fitness certificate which is approved by the Director-General of Shipping. Aspirants with Disability (DA), they are not eligible for admission to the marine programme. Aspirants have to physically fit & meet the medical necessities as specified by DGS guidelines.

EyeSight

Candidates must have good binocular vision. Their vision should be normal i.e. 6/6 in each eye separately. candidates joining B. Tech degree course, their vision should be unaided 0.5 (6/12) in each eye or 0.67 (6/9) in the better eye and 0.33 (6/18) in the other eye. Those applying for DNS, B.Sc. (Nautical Science) & B.Sc. (Maritime Science) degree course, their vision should be unaided 1.0 (6/6) int he better eye and 0.67 (6/9) in the other eye.

The admission will be guaranteed for a student if he or she fulfil the following eligibility criteria for all the courses in common.

• Candidates should have passed the class 12/any equivalent qualifying examination to be eligible for admissions. They must have obtained at least 60% aggregate/ average marks in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics for the bachelor of science courses.

    • Candidate applying for Punjab CET need not have aged beyond 17 years.
  • Qualification:
    • Applicants must have passed class 10+2 in science stream from any recognised Board with at least 50% marks.

  •  For B.Tech/B.Arch:
    • Three-year of Diploma with Mathematics as equivalent to 10+2 level with minimum 50% marks. IB Diploma after ten-year of schooling with mathematics as subject and 50% marks aggregate.
  • For B.Tech Lateral:
    • Applicants must have completed a three-year Diploma course in Mechanical/Marine/Electrical/ Electrical and Electronics from the institution approved by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education with a minimum 45% of aggregate marks for b.Tech (lateral).
  • For B. Pharma :
    • Applicants with Diploma in Pharmacy with at least 45% marks/ 10+2 examination with Physics & Chemistry as compulsory subject with 45% marks.
  • For M.Tech:
    •  Candidates should have a B.E./B.Tech Degree in appropriate branch or equivalent with not less than 50% marks
  • For MBA / MCA:
    • Applicant must have done Graduation/bachelor’s degree obtained through the 10+2+3 system or an equivalent qualification with a minimum aggregate of 50% or equivalent CGPA.
