Aadhaar Card for JEE Examinations (JEE Main) HRD Announcement

Aadhaar Card
Aadhaar Card for JEE Main 2020

The HRD ministry has made Aadhaar mandatory for a number of entrance exams like entrance exam for MBBS (Bachelors of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery), i.e., NEET, BDS (Bachelors of Dental Surgery), UPSEE (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Exam), JEE (Main), JEE (Advanced). The CBSE has even mentioned why producing the Aadhaar card is important. National Testing Agency (JEE Main Examination Conducting Body) declared that “the Aadhaar number is only one of the types of identification and is not mandatory“.

Aadhaar Card for JEE (Mains)

  1. This step was taken with the view of reducing malpractice and impersonation in the examination hall. While filling the JEE application, a student needs to fill the details that he or she has filled while filling up the Aadhaar enrollment number. It is also important to note that the information that a student is providing in the JEE application form should also match with the information in his or her Aadhaar card.
  2. Secondly, a student just needs to show his or her Aadhaar card as an identity proof. The Aadhaar card is the one and the only document which a student needs to produce and no other documents are necessary. Moreover, it will also be convenient for the examiner to identify the student.

Where to Apply for an Aadhaar Card?

In case a student does not have an Aadhaar card, he/she will have to apply at an enrollment centre. For this, the CBSE has opened a number of facilitation centres to help students in Aadhaar enrollment. Such facilitation centres do not charge any amount from the students. Their services are absolutely free of cost.

You can find the nearest facilitation centre by visiting the official website of Aadhaar.

Clarifications while Applying JEE with Aadhaar:

Since this step has been introduced from this year onwards, it has been observed that many students have numerous confusion regarding the process. The candidates should keep the following points in mind while applying for JEE with Aadhaar:-

  • In case a student has enrolled for an Aadhaar card but did not receive his or her Aadhaar card, then, he or she needs to fill in the 28-digit Aadhaar enrollment number. The enrollment number comprises of the 14-digit enrollment id and the 14 digits of date and time when taken together.
  • If a candidate has recently submitted to update Aadhaar details then such a student needs to fill in the 14-digit Aadhaar enrollment number provided in the acknowledgement slip which a person gets after successfully applying for Aadhaar updates.
  • A student may find that his/her application process has failed. This may happen due to two reasons: –
    1. The candidate has mismatched the information. This means that a candidate must provide the same information as provided in the Aadhaar card.
    2. The candidates’ biometric does not match. In such a case, a student should send a request for the biometric update to the Aadhaar centre. After successfully applying for update an acknowledgement slip will be provided containing the enrollment number. A student must fill in the enrollment number including the slash while applying for JEE (Main)
  • In the case of any mistake in the data like the name is misspelt or Date of Birth is wrongly mentioned then the student must submit a correction request in the Aadhaar centre. After submitting for correction an acknowledgement slip will be provided which will contain your 14-digit enrollment number. A student while applying for JEE (Main) should fill in this enrollment number along with the slash.
  • In case a student is from outside India (NRI / PIO / OCI), then he or she can apply using his or her passport details.
  • In the case of students who have passed their class 12 from Meghalaya, Assam or Jammu and Kashmir and who also have their Aadhaar card can choose their examination centre anywhere in India. However, if they do not have any Aadhaar card then they show any government ID (like voter’s ID, passport details, ration card etc.). This provision is only applicable if a student writes their JEE exam in any of these states and not in any other states.
  • In the case of the father’s name or mother’s name, the candidate should fill their details in accordance with their school records.

Selective Revision: The JEE Main exam covers almost all the topics that have been given in the syllabus. But it is difficult to cover everything during revision. So pick up the most important topics and brush them up.

JEE Main 2023 Revision Tips – Important Topics in Physics

  • Mechanics – Kinematics and Dynamics
  • SHM
  • Heat and Thermodynamics
  • Waves and Sound
  • Properties of Matter
  • Electrostatics
  • Current Electricity
  • Theory of Fields – Electromagnetism
  • Magnetism
  • Modern Physics
  • Optics
  • Practical Physics

JEE Main 2023 Revision Tips – Important Topics in Chemistry

  • Simply put, Chemistry is divided broadly into Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Inorganic Chemistry. Priority is Physical Chemistry, then Inorganic, and then Organic Chemistry.
  • If the candidates have prepared well for all those in Class XI and Class XII, then while revision, focus on Physical.
  • To revise for Organic Chemistry, go through the reaction charts and remember all the reaction chains.

JEE Main 2023 Revision Tips – Important Topics in Mathematics

  • Algebra
  • Coordinate Geometry
  • Calculus
  • Trigonometry
  • Vector
  • Determinants
  • Permutation and Combination
  • Sequences

Refer fewer books for theory: NCERT books are best for understanding theory and covering the JEE Main syllabus. Don’t pick up books by foreign authors to read the theory portions. After NCERT, preparation can be done by books like HC Verma for Physics, OP TandonP Bahadur for Chemistry and RD Sharma for Mathematics

JEE MAIN 2023 Preparation Plan

Plan and Revise: Chart out a plan beforehand and adhere to it. Mark on the calendar the topics required to cover. Just keep 3-4 days blank as these days might be necessary as extra time to cover certain topics. For just a day prior to the exam, do not keep a very difficult topic as that might only escalate nervousness.

Use notes now: If a candidate thinks he/she can pick up a new book to help him/her out now, it is wrong. The last moment revision calls for self-made flashcards or notes. So, it is necessary for students to keep notes for each subject in their own handwriting. During revision, studying from self-written notes has always proved to be more effective than books.

Solve mock tests: Use this time to get prepared for the hands-on experience. If an aspirant has already solved previous year papers, solve JEE Main Mock Tests online. Also remember that whenever solving mock tests, try to do it within the time limit. Speed is the most important factor that can determine the score.

JEE Main Revision is the most important part of the preparation now. So do it right and crack the exam!

Plan your weekly and daily timetable: It is not humanly possible to finish the complete syllabus in a day. So unless a student is a flash don’t think that “Today I will finish the entire syllabus!”

Make a weekly timetable in which precisely note down the chapters to solve from so-and-so book; the number of sample papers to solve and revision. Also, create a day-wise timetable outlining important subjects for study and goals.

Do not get tensed frequently: Be happy and stay calm. Any engineering entrance exam is not the end of the world. The candidates need to stay focused and repeatedly tell themselves that they can do it!

Ignore pesky and bothersome relatives or so-called well-wishers who keep bothering about marks or taunting about performance.

Give Best and Work Hard.
